Synopsis
In custody in New York, Detective James Knight finds himself in the middle of a jailbreak led by The Christmas Bomber, a brutal fanatic whose Santa Claus disciples are terrorizing the city. With the promised return of his badge in exchange for taking out the terrorists, the steely-eyed Knight doles out mercy for the just...and merciless justice for all the rest.

Redemption (movie 2 of 3 in the Detective Knight trilogy) is somehow better & worse than Rogue.
& These ratings are inconsequential anyway bc I decided to love these movies no matter what.Stay frosty, Santas.

"HO! HO! HO!" - Santa Villains As They Rob A Bank
Bruce Willis has never looked older. Barely moving. Eyes sunken and staring off into the distance. Head hung low. Mouth opening only a sliver to wheeze out a line.
If you told me this was the last thing he filmed before having his exploitative management 'retire' him because that damning article came out, I'd believe you.
A direct follow-up to DETECTIVE KNIGHT: ROGUE (which took place during Halloween), DETECTIVE KNIGHT: REDEMPTION goes full-on Christmas with music, lights, and a villain that's a group of bombers dressed as Santa Clause, and Bruce Willis has to stop by standing around or sitting in a chair.
The most surprising thing about this…

I'm going to shove an Christmas tree up your ass and set it on fire.
First time watching.
Internet.
+ While being held in custody, Detective James Knight (Bruce Willis) finds himself in the middle of an jailbreak lead by the Christmas Bomber. In exchange for his badge being returned to him, Knight has to take out these Christmas terrorists before they strike again.
'Detective Knight: Redemption' is the second film in this 'Detective Knight' trilogy from Edward Drake. With the third installment - 'Detective Knight: Independence' coming out next year.
I would say that I enjoyed this more than 'Detective Knight: Rogue'. Not by much, but enough to give it an extra 0.5 star rating bump over the predecessor.…

The second in the quickie DETECTIVE KNIGHT trilogy (three films shot in 26 days, according to director Edward Drake) that constitutes Bruce Willis' final work before his aphasia-induced retirement is a marked decline from its predecessor DETECTIVE KNIGHT: ROGUE, which, make no mistake, was pretty terrible. DETECTIVE KNIGHT: REDEMPTION is just depressing, and proof positive that Willis was in no condition to be anywhere near a movie set other than as a visitor, which he pretty much is here. He looked tired in ROGUE, but he's practically incapacitated in REDEMPTION, and much of his screen time is spent standing there, usually shot solo, while the other actors in the scene (acting opposite his double) keep the story moving by saying…

Terrible but also kind of insane.
The villain is a third rate cross between the Joker, Bane, and Hans Gruber. If that sounds like that would lead to a character with no consistency, A) you’re correct, and B) apparently no one told Edward Drake that.
Sloppily made (in the climax there are guns firing without sound effects) badly acted, and lacking any adequate budget whatsoever, the film only has a nutso, Ed-Woodian sense of ambition going for it. And there’s still one more of these!
Also, in the climax the villain picks up a samurai sword (?!!) but never uses it. What are we doing here, folks?

Seinen Kollegen…

I’m gonna shove a Christmas tree up your ass and set it on fire.
Detective Knight: Redemption is exactly what you would expect. A straight to video action movie that is a bit more interesting than it should be.
I found “Rogue” to be a bit better but pretty much equal in the end.
Bruce Willis is still doing his thing. His condition is extremely evident at this point, but it’s easy to overlook as the story goes on. I like that he just stays silent more often than not instead of throwing too much dialogue at him. I honestly wouldn’t hate if his character said nothing at all and just kicked ass. It would probably work without much issue.
